In a move that has the international moustache community reeling, Jeff Bowler has shaved his moustache before the official NOML Moustache Growing Championship end date. This move is in direct violation of NOML Moustache Growing Championship rule number 9, and thus Nate Bowler is officially your 2006 NOML Moustache Growing Champion!!!

The NOML congratulates the 2006 NOML Moustache Growing Champion, Nate Bowler. Throughout the championship, Nate Bowler exhibited that rare combination of grit and grace befitting a true NOML Moustache Growing Champion. The consummate competitor, Nate Bowler never gave in, even when it looked as though Jeff Bowler's moustache might be rallying toward ultimate triumph. Ultimate triumph, however, belongs to one man on this day. His name is Nate Bowler. May his name live on in moustache lore. May his moustache never be forgotten.

Breaking News!

In a stunning move Jeff Bowler has reconstructed his moustache, and boldly taken on the traditional moustache style.

In a recent interview with an NOML affiliate, the WML (World Moustache League), Jeff Bowler commented on his recent move, "Well, I felt like I definitely needed to do some something drastic. Nate Bowler had really started to pull away and we continued to have setback after setback. My team and I got together to determine what our next step was. The traditional moustache that you see now is the result. We are going to give it one last effort to catch Nate Bowler, and see if we can't really give this thing a go. I just don't know if we can catch him."

This is an unprecedented move in the Moustache community, and quite possibly, exactly what the 2006 Championship needed. A sudden shot of adrenaline to take us into the home stretch, and see who will be crowned the NOML 2006 Moustache Growing Champion.

Latest Update!!!

After three weeks, serious moustaches are beginning to emerge. Both contestants appear to have stuck with their styles for the time being, Jeff Bowler sporting a near-goatee reminiscent of former major-leaguer Goose Gossage, while Nate Bowler's cowboy 'stache is filling in nicely. It's neck-and-neck, folks, as these two titans engage in an epic struggle to achieve moustache dominion over Northern Ohio.
